Chilly Days in the city.

In the midst of winter I was looking back on warmer days and ran across this day out! I wanted to show case more of my photography and edit style. So here are a few photos that I took of some dear friends of mine.

2017

As the start of the year came and went it had me thinking. As so many people do they set out to change things about themselves. New year new you? For myself I wanted to push my self and set goals. Short term and long term so that I have things to look forward to but also to be achieving goals and keeping up my motivation. 

1. I want to always try to do my best. I don't want to find myself taking the easy way out or giving up. Putting 110% into the work that I do.

2. Be more present in life. Not always vying for the future but enjoying where I am at in this point in my life. 

3. Try new things because the worst thing that could happen is that you don't like it and you don't do it again, but you could try something amazing that you love.

4. I want to read more. Classics books, books by my favorite celebrities, any books, I want to dive into books and get captivated. 

5. Drink more water, eat more veggies over all be a healthier version of myself.

6. Run more. I've never really been a runner but I feel like it could be very therapeutic.

7. Blaze a trail for my career. Make connections in my industry. Do the best work I can do. Help myself long term.

8. Be a leader not a follower. Be innovative and creative.

9. Work on relationships. Be a better daughter, friend, sister, girlfriend, student. Build close connections and make memories.

10. Make 2017 the best year yet.

How we meet

My Blake

At the ripe young age of twelve I unknowingly meet the love of my life. He was disguised as annoying middle school boy. We became best friends because I was also just as annoying. We hung out at youth group, joked, laughed, and tried to hurt each other a lot. High school came around and we began going to the same school. Still being our annoying best friend selves. He became my math tutor, we would tell each other everything instead of learning math. We were just friends nothing more. I saw him as my best friend who I loved to tell everything, talk about my problems, vent, laugh with, everything. Deep down I swayed back and forth between do I like him or is he just my friend. The hard thing was not wanting to push anything to far and ruining our great friendship. As junior year of high school approached he transferred to a different school. This brought us having to see each other outside of school. Long walks, long talks, and feelings starting to develop. After a while it became more than just hanging out with him. He was the only person I ever wanted to see or talk too. After nights spent talking instead of sleeping and getting coffee turned into coffee dates we couldn't stay apart. He took me to a movie and asked to hold my hand. That changed my whole life. From there our feelings grew and about two months later he became my boyfriend. And here we are over 3 years later. This boy who was my friend who I confided in became so much more than my friend. And who knew he would become my high school sweetheart and the person I want to spend forever with. Blake is so much more than a boyfriend he is my best friend, my confidant, my number one fan, he loves me unconditionally, and is my own personal comedian who can make me uncontrollably laugh. He makes the hard times less hard, he makes the sad times easier to bear, he is like sunshine in my life. I am so excited to share more about Blake and our story.

Late August I went back to school and left behind an unfinished project. I didn't know exactly how this was going to work with there being a 3 hour time difference but so far we have made it work. Having flexible clients was amazing for me especially since I am in school. Shout out to amazing clients!  Before leaving the project sites there was a lot of prep work. I prepped the clients on what was to come, the process and the next steps that were going to happen. I informed workers who were working on my projects and accumulated finishing touches aka accessories so even though I won't be there to finish the room it will still feel as if I was. I prepped the person who if an emergency was to arise on the project. I also prepped the stager who is setting all of the accessories. A lot of prep work goes into working remotely and trust. Working remotely is very different than working in person but just as rewarding and fun!

Here is an update on one of my projects. 

Its about half way complete this project should be wrapped up around early October!

When I think fall decor I immediately think warm and cozy. For me candles set that mood. I chose this set of candle sticks because the gold gives it a fall feel, warm and intimate. I can just see these candle sticks dripping in white wax on a fall evening in a cozy living room on the mantle.
